For eight long years, Detective Inspector Lorne Simpkins has tracked the
vicious criminal known as The Unicorn. But the killer has frustrated MI6
at every turn and remained successful at Impeding Justice.
When Lorne is targeted in a trap that results in the death of her
partner, the tragedy shakes her confidence to the core. Before she
has time to recoup, her teenage daughter is kidnapped. More than Lorne’s
professional reputation rests on her bringing The Unicorn to justice.
some praise from satisfied thriller readers…
Knightmare said… I read this book practically in one sitting and then went
straight on to read the sequel. It’s a fast-paced story with a
terrifying villain and a great heroine. I love books with strong female
characters and Lorne Simpkins is one of the best I’ve come across - no
matter what’s thrown at her, she keeps on fighting. The book has the
feel of an English version of 24 with a female Jack Bauer.

said…Was not sure what I expected but loved this book it was fast
paced from page one and did not let up, in fact i only downloaded it
yesterday lunchtime and could not put it down I stayed up till 12.30
this morning to finish it, the characters were excellent even the bad
guy was portrayed in such a way as to send shivers down the spine.
Cannot wait for the sequel to see what happens next.
