John Reed (1887-1920), an American journalist, poet, and communist activist. He graduated from of Harvard, and is best remembered for his first-hand account of the Bolshevik Revolution in Russia in Ten Days that Shook the World. He was married to writer and feminist Louise Bryant. He died in Moscow on October 17, 1920, and was buried near the Kremlin Wall.
