"My name is Kenneth Dewayne George, but everyone calls meKenny G. I was born in Vicksburg, Mississippi on April 6, 1968 tothe parents of Carl, and Felicia George. They were very youngwhen they had me. My story begins when I was eight years old,and I had two other siblings under me. My sister Angela was sixyears old, and my brother Mark was four years old. We grew upin a Christian home. Our father was a cab driver, and a evangelistwho always provided for his family, and our Mother was a lovingand devoted homemaker, and she also was our teacher. We werehomeschooled because we travel a lot; our parents felt it was bestfor us to be homeschooled. Going to church and serving God wasa way of life in the George family home. At the age of eight yearsold, I accepted the Lord as my personal Savior. But I wasn’t sureif God was real or someone people made up. One day I began towonder if God or Jesus was real, or were they just Fairy Tales, likethe Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny, and Santa Claus. One day I startedto ask myself, Is God real? How can I find out? The only answerI could come up with was to ask God himself. I figured if he wasreal he would tell me or show me. If he wasn’t real, then he won’tsay a word, and I would know for myself. This was the questionthat was in my mind. That night before I went to bed, I got on myknees and asked God if he was real. I waited patiently expectingan answer, But there was none. After about fifteen minutes, Icrawled into my bed and went to sleep. The next morning I got up,washed my face, and brushed my teeth. I remembered the questionI asked the night before concerning if God or Jesus was real. Thatmorning I came to the conclusion that he was just a character, somebody with a vivid imagination made up. So I thought when Iturned eighteen, I will tell my parents, I do not believe in this Godthey talk about so much, because I didn’t believe he was real, andthat would be the end of that. But to my surprise, he did hear myprayers; not only did he hear it, but he answered me in such a waythat I would have never imagined. Later on that day, one of myteeth fell out, and I got very excited. Because I heard stories frommy friends that if you put your tooth under your pillow, the toothfairy will come in the middle of the night to give you money for yourtooth. As strange as this might sound, I believed in the tooth fairy. So that night, before I went to bed, I put my tooth under my pillow, and I went to sleep, with high hopes that when I wake up and lookunder my pillow there would be money from the tooth fairy waitingfor me. Just like in the stories I heard. At about 3:00 a.m., I wokeup to the sound of someone tapping on my window. When I beganto open my eyes to see who was tapping, I was very surprised tosee what looked like an old woman. She had a pointy face andlong fingers. She wore a tall hat, and her hair was very long. So Iquickly covered my face with my blanket, hoping she could notsee if I was awake. She began to tap more; I started peeking outfrom under my covers to see what she was doing. Every time Iwould look at the window, she would tell me to come toward it withher long finger. So I went back under my covers. I was wonderingin my mind, Is this really happening to me? Why is she trying toCALLING ON THE NAME OF JESUS 11get me to come toward the window? Is this something she doesto see if the person was awake? So I waited to see what she woulddo. About five minutes later, I started to peak again to see whatwas happening. It was at that moment when a soft voice I’ve neverheard before began to speak in my head. The voice said, The toothfairy is not real, that is a demon at your window. Call on the nameof Jesus, you will be saved.
