Before the arrival of Spanish conquistadors to South America in
1526, the Incan Empire was prospering in all corners of what is now Peru, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, parts of Ecuador and Colombia. Great harvest periods came when they stocked grains in silos underground, but also, drought was in this cycle, so, they relied on religious ceremonies of human blood offerings to the gods, to gain favorite status and enjoy future harvests.
