The Word Made Flesh is a one act play based on the story of the Transfiguration that weaves together various strands from the Old and New Testaments, and from the Eucharistic liturgies of both eastern and western Catholic churches. Its aim is to reveal the glory of God, that is the super densty and brilliance of the Word incarnated in Jesus Christ historically and in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. The play integrates action with sacred music, including Durufle's choral rendition of Tantum Ergo and the famous English hymn, Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence. It can be performed in under an hour, and is an appropriate tool for the catechesis of older teens and adults.
