The Blue Lagoon is a novel by Henry De Vere Stacpoole, first published in 1908. The novel is the first of the Blue Lagoon trilogy, the second being The Garden of God (1923) and the third being The Gates of Morning (1925).

There were three films based on this novel.
The Blue Lagoon (1980), directed by Randal Kleiser, starring Brooke Shields and Christopher Atkins.

The Blue Lagoon (1923), a silent film directed by W. Bowden, starring Molly Adair and Dick Cruickshanks.

The Blue Lagoon (1949), directed by Frank Launder, starring Jean Simmons and Donald Houston.

The novel tells the story of two young children shipwrecked on a tropical island paradise in the South Pacific. Emotional feelings and physical changes arise as they grow to maturity and fall in love. The story has major thematic similarities to the Biblical story of Adam and Eve.

Richard and Emmeline, two British children, are the survivors of a shipwreck in the South Pacific. After days afloat, they are marooned on a lush tropical island in the company of kindly, old sailor Paddy.

Eventually, Paddy dies, leaving Emmeline and Richard, all alone with each other. Together, they survive solely on their resourcefulness, and the bounty of their remote paradise.

Years pass and both Emmeline and Michael become nubile young adults, tanned to a flawless bronze, and fitter than Olympic gymnasts. Eventually, their raging hormones lead the two young castaways into each other\'s arms.

Eventually, strange emotions start influencing their relationship. Richard and Emmeline begin to fall in love, although they do not realize it, partly due to their general ignorance of human sexuality. They are physically attracted to each other, but don\'t realize it or know how to express it...

This is the original and unabridged version of this classic.

A must-have for fans of classic romance/adventure stories!
