Mark Twain (Samuel Langhorne Clemens - 1835-1910) was a steamboat pilot, journalist, writer, humorist, an anti-imperialist, an opponent of slavery and racism, a supporter of women’s rights, and a close friend of Nikola Tesla. An ardent opponent of the U.S. military occupation of the Philippines, he penned the following around 1900 during the Filipino-American War (1899-1902).
