Richard Harding Davis (1864-1916) was the most famous American correspondent of his time. In this book, published in 1897, Davis recounts his experiences in different parts of the world between the months of May 1896 and June 1897. Included in the book are essays on the Russian coronation; the millennial celebration in Budapest; the Cuban revolution against Spain – “The Death of Rodriguez” and “Along the Trocha”; the inauguration of U.S. President William McKinley; with Greek soldiers during the Greek-Turkish war; and the British Queen’s jubilee.
